Wait untill you can buy long tubes. Your not going to gain much at all by removing the cats the exhaust mainiflods are the beginning of the restriction. Not worth the time or money IMO. You can edit out the rear o2s so the ses light doesn't come on, if you do remove them, or if you get LT'S and a ORY.

Sweat paint job ^^^. Also if you dont have to have emmisssions I would save up and get a ls6 intake manifold. Then you can remove the egr,and the air pump. The engine bay will look alot less cluttered and you'll pick up nice gains from the intake and exhaust combo. You'll throw codes for each sysytem so if you do it all at once you can get the codes tuned out for the rear o2's, egr, and air system all at once.

I will have to disagree I went 11.66@114 with the stock manifolds from a 01 car with gutted converters and then when I installed headers only pick up about 3 tenths...........
I did the same thing with my 02 conv and went 12.08@109-110 alot of people have run gutted converters with good results.
You will have to get some rear 02 sims or some type off programming to keep the SES light from coming on .
