I went to install my Carbon Fiber Auto Meter gauge - electrical - removed the plug from the Rear of the right head - the 2 adapters to install the sensor are too big - went to 2 hardware stores - looked at me like I had a horn growing out of my head - Looking for some help

Here's a good write-up that should point you in the right direction. Be warned though, the Equus adaptor breaks very easily if you tighten it too much.

Or... you can put the plug back into the head. Drop the starter, remove the plug above it, and put in an adapter there. 10 times easier than the back of the head! You will need a M16x1.5 adapter for this location. You can get them at Jegs, Summit, or E-Gauges

Retsik and O2
Thank you guys very much !!
I looked and thought about the spot above the starter - thanks for confirming it.
I ordered the adapters for the head - I'll try it first
Thanks for solving my frustration - man I was pissed - esp at the hardware guys - I knew what I wanted - they acted like I was try to build the Ark.

Re: Coolant Sensor adapter for Auto Meter Gauge ?
I sent an email to AutoMeter
I got a phone call from Cory in AutoMeter service
They are very much aware of the problem we are having.
They currently have a prototype adapter and new sensor - for our applications
The adapter has thicker walls, so breakage is not an issue
The adapter and new sensor - that works specifically with temp gauges is 18.00
Call Autometer - ask for Cory or Bob in service.
Great customer service to call me in person and offer a fix right over the phone.
