Default Painting Ugly Pipes?

Drove up the driveway today looking at the back of my WS, just washed, super clean... But wait... What is that? Ugly *** exhaust pipes that I can barely see, but just gets to me.

I'm thinking of getting under there and just shooting it with some High Temp rattle can paint to get it nice and black... Any downsides? Don't want to start a fire or anything. Also, would it hurt to shoot the muffler while I'm down there?

You should be good. Just make sure you use the high temp paint like you said, especially on the muffler.

Painted the old factory exhaust on the SS with brush on black BBQ paint, it held up fine until I went with a Magnaflow exhaust about a year later. My pipes looked really nasty until I did this, it was a big improvement.

It won't hurt anything. The exhaust system between the headers and the muffler acts like a radiator and cools the exhaust while you're driving. That reduces the temps significantly below the levels of any high-heat paint.
