Default water pump leak

2000 Trans Am. Its leaking coolant. Followed it up to the water pump but the start of the leak is coming from like behind the upper driver's side portion of the pump by those two bolts, starting behind/underneath that lower bolt.

Where is the weep hole on these things? I'm trying to figure out if its leaking out of the weep hole, which would mean my pump is on its way out.

it could also just be the gasket...mine seemed it was leaking from the bolts you're reffering to. turned out to be the gasket, but i ended up changing the pump as well. save me a headache down the road.

Thats what I was thinking. I guess the only way to find out is to tear it apart and find out for sure.

I found that mine was leaking out the bottom of the thermostat housing. I tried tightening the bolt, but it seems to stripped. I gotta pull the pump and tap/thread the bolt.

Edelbrock now makes a nice LS1 pump that is supposed to put out 20% more volume. It ain't cheap though I have also heard good things about Evans but never seen one. There is always the Meziere EWP but thats overkill for me.

Yeah, I'm probably just going to tap the threads and put a helicoil in there and call it a day.
