Default Exaust feed back

Ok here is what i got going on. I have GMMG exaust with Edelbrock Longtubes. The headers are steped 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 with a 3.5" collector steped down to 3" into the GMMG. The problem is the car sounds like a big rig. It really sounds like it just has two glass packs. What if any exaust do i go to with these headers. Any advice would be great.

thats the bad thing about gmmg it sound great with stock manifolds and cats but when you get headers and ory then its just loud. I would thing magna flow would make it sound better. then you can put a cutout if front of that if you want it loud at times.

I have a 2000 ss with pacesetter long tubes, ory, and a hooker cat back and i love it. Perfect amount of being loud while retaining definition and that muscle car rumble.

I think im looking for more of what type of exhaust to go to. Im thinking of getting rid of the GMMG, but I DO NOT want a raspy sound. I want a crisp sound with out it sounding like two glass packs.

The flowmaster single chamber mufflers are by far the best sounding mufflers for true duals on an LS1. The clearance sucks for them underneath, cuz theyre pretty big and bulky. A close 2nd would be Spiral Flows which Texas Speed carries

Flow single chambers are hardly big and bulky. If you dont want rasp add cats. I just took off flow single chambers dumped before the axle no cats and no balance pipe, Was loud as hell at all times. Only liked the sound when it was WOT

Buddy has a 05 gto modded close to the same as my car, only difference is he has a h pipe and the mufflers at the rear of the car. Sounds so much better imo.

I also have a GMMG with LTs and ORY. I agree it is too loud, I welded a Magnaflow bullet muffler in the intermediate pipe, and it made it sound way better, it quieted it down A LOT
