Default Underdrive pulley without A/C drive

I really need to get a crank underdrive pulley for my 2002 Camaro LS1. I would like to find one without the ribs for the A/C like this one on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-02...mZ360055494285

I would normally order this one, but I am not a fan of "no name" parts (if this is a good pulley to get then please tell me).

The reason I say that I "need" one is because my LS1 is stuffed in a '73 240Z (no A/C). When I installed the engine, the engine mounts were new and the pulley cleared the steering rack (was close, but cleared). When the rubber in the mounts settled, the pulley began striking the steering rack on the A/C side of the pulley.

I know a 25% underdrive pulley would bring the pulley up about 3/4" on the bottom and I would clear the steering rack. However, if I am able to get one without the A/C part of the pulley (like the one in the eBay ad), then I would get even more clearence as the accessory half of the crank pulley sits too far forward to ever hit the steering rack no matter how much the engine drops down.

Is there a good company making an underdrive crank pulley without the A/C portion of the pulley???

If I can't find a pulley without the A/C part I will probibly go for an SLP unit. So could somebody with an SLP underdrive pulley tell me what the overall diameter it is with those taller belt walls?

Thanks for your time,
Scott

I bet you could have a machine shop turn down the AC side retention walls and ribs. Just make sure they balance it before they call it a day

Thanks for the help. I will probibly take your advice about having a machine shop turn down the side walls on the A/C side. Every bit of clearence helps.

I believe ATI makes one without A/C.

I know ATI is pricey but I would definately go that route than turning down a PowerBond or something...

The ATI seems like a much better option. I hate to spend that much on it, but at least I know it's a quality part.

Thanks guys.

Def agree, If they offer something you dont have to modify you are better off.
