There are a few rivets in the baffle holding it to the hood..get a drill and in reverse mode drill them out. Once they are out just pull.

Go to the Fast Toys website and look at their JAAM kit pdf for a picture walkthrough. Its basically just taking a drill and drilling the head off of all the rivets that are holding the baffles in then breaking the glue holding them there. The hardest part is trying to get that glue to let go.

If you dont mind me asking, but why do you want to do this? IMO the fast CAI is a lot better/safer,plus you can actually get a real good seal, but if you dont drive in the rain, I guess it'll be OK, just my $0.02

I wouldnt say the ss hood is any more functional. the Factory ramair hoods on the 98-02 cars suck! I had a 98 ss, the hood has to return air back to the air box. I have an 01 ws6 and it has huge baffles. Both hoods let air out by the hood latch and other holes before it even makes it to the airbox. "RAM AIR" may sound cool and be a good selling point but they are closer to a cold air intake. (except the ss hood might have a chance to get a little heat soak?)

But I went the way of the SLP CAI.
