Default SLP Headers "new design" review

I recently purchased SLP's newly designed headers. I noticed that there wasn't much information about them on this sight so I thought I would give a little review. I received them last week and they have yet to be installed. But upon request, I took pictures of the kit I received. The kit comes with headers (stainless steel and ceramic coated), Y-Pipe, cats, O2 extenders and sensor, Metal gaskets, Stainless Clamps, and misc. bolts and ties. The quality of the header looks top notch.

These headers will be installed by next weekend. I will post I follow up about fitment and installation. I plan on using this setup with Loudmouth II into CME. I will post a sound clip as well after everything is done. The only thing i do not like is that new header bolts were not included.

Very nice so far. They look MUCH better than their original design.

THANK YOU! FINALLY someone posted some pics of these headers

I'm disappointed to see they don't have merge collectors with a velocity spike, but overall, they look really nice. I like the fact that SLP does stainless AND ceramic coating. I'm curious to see fitment, along with installed pics and...of course...video w/sound clip

I too am a little disappointed that they haven't used the latest tech out there. They do make a quality part but I don't like that you cant just buy the header without the cats. (unless they changed it, inform me if I'm wrong) I have the old design and will say they hold up very well overtime, just make sure you keep them clean and wiped down periodically. Good luck with the install, it is supposed to be a lot easier.

Their origonal design y pipe had a better merge. I actually think their first design of headers were great other than the ground clerance. The original design were tuned for more tq. I tuned a car at the dyno that made more tq than hp with the old design header.

As of right now you can't buy the header w/out cats. I imagine that will change eventually.

The worst thing about SLP is everything is emissions friendly.

Headers only offered with cats, and only with emissions hookups. Race style are the ticket.

Thats nothing special man, bone stock they dyno more tq than hp.

To the OP: Nice looking headers, now get those coated headers off the bare concrete! lol dont scratch em up already. Pretty good looking Y pipe merge too compared to others.

This was a heads and cam car. Its almost unheard of, so I say its pretty special.

Ah I see. Wonder if it was at the sacrifice of HP at all though? Anyway SLP makes nice stuff but **** all that having to buy cats etc crap, one more way to squeeze the customer.

I got these headers because I wanted to keep my car emissions friendly

No they don't care if you move them, just that you have them.

Aren't you allowed to move the cats in CA if the headers+cats have a CARB sticker ?
