Default EGR valve and headers? What to do?

So I got some Jet Hot LT's and we are currently working on getting them on. I got the non-emisions ones. What do we do with the EGR (pretty sure that's what it is) that is on the passenger side? Do we just plug it? Any help would be awesome. This could be a fun job.

Yup just do away with it and make a block off plate. You may get an ses code though.

block off plates on the header and you need either a ls6 intake or a freeze plug to install in the hole on top of your intake

Realized it's not EGR since I have an '02. What the hell is it that is attached to the manifold other than EGR? Looks like the big black tubes wrap around and connect at a cylineder on the driver's side and then one comes out back and goes around the driver's side to the front somewhere. I'm confused.

It the air system. It pump air into the manifolds to heat up the cats the first couple minutes your car is running. Its for emissions. You can just take out all the lines and the pump which will be in front of your driverside front wheel in that space. You will need to get a plug for you air lid as that where is take the air from. A SES code will come up but you can delete it. Here is a picture yours will be a little different cuz my is off my 2000 Trans Am but you get the idea.

whats funny is i dont have a code from removing the air pump. i think maybe because i have no rear o2s. i think those are what give feedback on the secondary air injection system.

Just remove the AIR system. Have someone delete the codes to turn off the SES light

Do I need to delete them completely off the computer or is it just something that I can delete once and be ok with it? Same goes for the codes I'll throw with the off-road y-pipe.

Its not hard at all especially if you plan on doing LT then you can just get the race style headers. All it is just four bolts for the air pump and to bolts on each manifold. then you will also need a plug for your intake lid. Since mine was a 2000 i had a small vaccum line that ran to the back of the intake that i had to plug too. But now i engine bay is much cleaner!

What size of plug is needed for the air box? Right now on my '02 I just have the line coming out of it and a big screw plugging the other end. lol

I got a chrysler master cylinder plug and it fit perfect on the side of the lid. Search and you'll find the part number of the plug. I got mine at autozone.
