Default SLP Underdrive Pulley

Is a SLP underdrive pulley worth the $$$$? Who has one and what are the gains of having one?

I put one on my 02 SS and it did make a difference but don't know how much. My car dynoed 318rwhp then i did the SLP underdrive pulley & SLP mass air & P&P Throttlebody and then made 333rwhp so i would say atleast 8rwhp.

As far as I know, the SLP UDP is made by powerbond. Save yourself some cash and buy one of those. Also even if the pulley added no HP, it would still lower the rotational mass. Faster revs = reaching powerband faster. I am NO expert though.

I installed a ASP pulley, didnt really notice a difference except it reved up a little quicker. No gains at the track either, but it wasnt hard to install at all. It gave me a reason to change the antifreeze while I was at it.

shops around here like Newteck only charge 80 bucks to do the install. imo, thats worth it.

Any of the UD pulleys will work. Remember the UD pulley typically has a 25% reduction. All the pulleys work the same in this area. The difference in pulleys is the SFI cert and type of construction.

NOTE: Requires 2 new belts (Gates #K060763 and #K040378 or equivalent, not included). For LS1 F-Bodies only.

Goodyear Belts 4060760 & 4040372 I believe will work also.

You can't lose with either one. Gates is a well-respected name.
I've got the Goodyear here, & have run them for about 6months with no issues.
One good selling feature about the SLP pulley is the 'high-walls', so it's less likely to throw a belt.

We have them on sale here-

I always saw this as a mod you do while doing a cam. On it's own it may not be worth the hassle.

Bringing this back from the dead, because it bit me in the butt.

The previously recommended gatorback belt 4040327, at 32.75 inches, is too short for the AC belt.

The last 3 digits correspond to the length of the belt.

The gatorbacks you want to order are:

4060760=76.0 inches, main belt (summit shows same length as x763, but 7 bucks cheaper.)
4040372=37.2 inches, AC belt (summit does not currently show length for x378, but by my math will be .5 inches longer.)

when in doubt, cross-reference another manufacturer, or read the instructions.

...I knew better.
