I called Meziere today and they say that this happens when the pump has seen heat cycles on a level surface and has no room to flex, IE engine block.

Once its taken off I guess it just flexes on its own and the internal O-Ring comes of its seat. They say to give it a couple heat cylces before calling it quits but they will replace it.

My first couple iterations of my EWP leaked, and I sent it back to them each time...they finally fixed it, and it has been good ever since. They have really good customer service.

wow, mechanical is the way to go i guess. Sorry to hear of the problems. I was sooo close to ordering one this week too. I know if I bought one with the thermostat for $650 and it started leaking, I would go ape ****.

Actually, if you paid that much for the water pump, you'd probably call Meziere and let it be their problem since they have about the best customer service I've run across. You'd do this because you'd realize how much cooler the engine runs under normal operating conditions in addition to freeing up a couple HP up top. But then again you'd only realize that if you actually OWNED the part...
