exhaust help
my car currently has stock manifolds, hollow cats. (3'' all the way back) and the borla adjustable cat back. got tired of 1 side being louder/sounding different so i got a pipe cut for place of the muffler so now its truely straight. my time with the borla in the 1/4 was 13.98. without it + mti clear lid, smooth bellows, and slp MAF without tune was 13.25. if i had a muffler would it cause more back pressure possibly making me run faster? or since it is not duals and only manifolds im fine? im also thinking about getting longtubes for christmas so would it help to get a muffler when i install those?

thats what im hoping but say i install long tubes and run 13.00 in the 1/4. if i install a muffler (single in dual out)will that create more backpressure causing better times cause i need some backpressure or will i have enough with it 'straight-piped' so it will slow me down?

the only back pressure needed is created by pipes. if you were running open headers, you should loose low end.
our cars will do low 13s stock though. 13 flat is possible too. a 350Z would keep up with what you are doing. what kinds of tires do you use?
