Default MAC headers discontinued? What to do.

After deciding to purchase some mac mid length ceramic headers with the catted y-pipe, I ordered them last night from JDperformance for $800 shipped then got a call today that MAC doesn't make the catted Y-pipe anymore. Should I just buy the offroad y-pipe version and get the stock cats welded on or I would need to buy some different ones that will pass NYS inspection.

EDIT: Pacesetter Headers & TSP Cat Y Pipe Combo ceramic with 02 extensions and EGR.
Does it also have AIR and what would I do with the rear 02's.

why buy new? search for a nice used set. headers with catted y pipes are not that uncommon. i got my macs used with non catted y pipe in pretty nice shape for $200 shipped. thats about the going rate too. wasnt just a spectacular deal.

The MAC catted Y sucs a$$ anyway. I had one and ended up cutting the flanges off the headers and re-building the Y with some better cats. The MAC's still make decent power. I ran a 12.7 with my revamped mac setup and a lid in a m6 z28 on stock radials.

Anyone know some good cats I could weld on to the offroad mac mid y-pipe? About 200-250 for both. Thanks, It's the last thing I need.

I would save my monry and get a quality LT system like ours in the end you'll nbe much happier with it. After you get it tuned it should pass NY inspection. Where in NY are you located?

I'm now considering pacesetter LT's ceramic coated with o2 extensions and AIR EGR and the TSP catted y-pipe for under $800. It says that the y-pipe is not carb certified so what does that mean for passing nys inspection. As long as I have cats, EGR, AIR, will it matter? Could a dyno tune shutting off the rear O2's say its passing to the computer but you just need the cats there? One of the things I still don't fully understand.

Not as good as these

Metallic matrix and only 100 cells per square inch

^^^What cats are those? Those look pretty nice.

I have the Magnaflow metallic cats. At the time, they were rated as the highest flowing on the market and I have yet to see any data pointing to a better cat, but those look pretty high flowing.

These are my Magnaflows.

If your still interested in the Cats for a MAc header system. I might be pulling mine off soon. They were on the car one year.
