Default Pacesetter headers with AIR/EGR

I just bought some brand new Pacesetters with a ORY pipe for $260 shipped and I had a couple of questions. I just now seen a thread about how LT's with AIR/EGR will basically blow a hole in the header. I bought the AIR/EGR ones because the LS6 manifold I have is the one with the EGR hole. Should I sell these to get the race style headers or should I just not use the AIR/EGR? Also, should I get header gaskets at the GM dealer and is it worth changing my motor mounts while I install the LT's?

Get some block off plates and block that Emissions **** off, is your intake aftermarket? If not then it's not a true LS6 manifold although I think SLP offers one with the hole. And I see no reason why the EGR equipment would cause a hole to be blown in the header, sounds a little funny to me. And yes GM manifold gaskets work great and unless your motor mounts are broken I wouldn't fool with changing them because it's a bitch. Just my opinion

Those emissions fittings are known to break off - often at the most inconvenient times. It's better to block them off or break them off and weld up the holes. But it all depends on your issues with smogging the car. It will look closer to legal on top with everything hooked up, but if they see relocated cats, you're toast anyway.

BTW, there's a thread further down that is a typical example of what happens.

i had an exhaust leak coming from one of base of the fittings so i welded it up and put it back on. haven't had a problem with the other header yet. that was before they were blocked off though.

I think I will just take my AIR/EGR **** off. What would I need if I were to take the AIR/EGR off? I know I need a plug for my LS6 intake and how many block off plates?

I thought CA is pretty strict on emissions? You already have the headers w/EGR, why not just put them on and see what happens?

get race style, block off the emissions, or weld up those pipes. they dont blow holes, the tubes fall off. I blocked mine off, woulda got race style but I have hookers, they dont come that way.

In the parts classified section! I just got em in about an hour ago!!! I tried to find the link so I can post it, but I don't know what happened to it. I got them from "r.serio". At first he was saying $240 shipped, but he then told me $260 shipped. I just said whatever because it was a good deal no matter what anyway.

Ok, so I'm gonna use AIR/EGR because that's what I got them for anyway, BUT what ALL would I need for the install??? I'm going to buy gaskets within the next few days, but am I going to need O2 sims or O2 sensors?? I'll snap some pics tomorrow morning and post them up.

I'm gonna order EVERYTHING in the same day because I want these on ASAP. I've had this damn SS for 5 1/2 years and I've only added a couple of mods. I had 2 sets of headers that I never installed and sold them. I also just sold my cam about 2 months ago.
