Magnaflow for sure, my car has a 226/232 113+2 cam with ARH headers, no cats, 3 inch Y and 4" over the axle into a single magnaflow. It sounds great but is not too loud to **** off the neighbors or get me pulledover.

i have the same problem maybe some one could help the both of us. I have a c5 with 1 3/4 long tubes, 2 1/2 x pipe and 3" B&B exhaust. Im also around 525 RWP need to lower the sound with very little power loss. I am going to replace my headers to 2" and my x pipe with a 3" very soon.

I think most have found the Hooker cat back to be a great flowing, quiet exhaust also. Although not stainless, I think it's pretty affordable.

i am thinking about doing the same thing but i wanted to add a SLP resonator in the I pipe.

i think that might quiet down the system and you wouldnt loose that much power.

I have a cam, LTs, ORY and Hooker catback. It was too loud for my neighborhood so I added a 4 in. spiral flow muffler to the I-pipe. Works pretty good without significant power loss.

I just put my stock muffler back on and installed an E cutout right before the muffler. Now my 370ci is whisper quiet without cats and I can open it up whenever.

It would probably help if you mentioned what catback you're running now so we know what catbacks available to pick from are actually quieter than what you have. If you have a Hooker now and people recommend Magnaflow, you're going to be disappointed when your exhaust gets louder.

If you're running any kind of aftermarket catback, an SLP dual/dual is going to be your best bet. Quieter than Magnaflow and Hooker, stainless steel and flows very well. Problem is, they're discontinued so you'll have to pick up one used. That would easily be your best solution, though. Then, just add an electric cutout for the loud factor once you get down the street.

Stock catback with longtubes & E-cutout was my favorite setup i've had, besides borla. The stock mufflers don't sound too bad with headers and no cats.

Some people are just jerks...everyone that doesn't have a car hobby thinks a loud exhaust means you're racing and then they bitch...just ignore them.

Have the exhaust shop put a resonator in your exhaust

slp loudmouth in I pipe -> electric cutout -> stock muffler

when you come around your neighbor hood or see a cop close the cutout and bam your quiet, when you drive down broadway or main street the whole towns eyes are on you
