Default alternator question

I am gonna be running a hot stereo system as well as upgrading a few other electronics I remeber reading somewhere that the truck alternators were a good bit more powerful is the any truth to this? also will it work on a fbody pulley set up or would I need the entire set up off the truck . Also if anyone has part numbers / years / motor / models thet they would have come on please let me know.

The trucks had the option for a 145amp alternator. I don't remember what the part number was, but the truck alternator will bolt up to the F-Body bracket. The case is larger than the F-body Alternator, so you may have to check clearances because I know the F-body engine bay is tight. It will work on the F-Body pulley setup, that is the only thing interchangeable between the 2.
