EGR Question
While doing my LS6 intake swap, I decided to do the EGR Delete. There is the module that bolts to the passenger side head. On this, the bottom tube had a block off plate. Did this make the whole system useless? And My car must have a tune then due to the lack of cats and the disconnection of this tube. Is this correct?
PS. i know thats worded funny, i can clarify if need be

Well you have a check engine light huh? I would think you would just need an Edit to pass emissions if your CPU hasn't been edited. I don't think it's going to pass if you don't have cats/egr with unedited CPU. Don't think it will hurt anything though.
It should only cost like $75 though, not the full tune cost.
Just my $.02

Or they were doing like I am(will be that is), making it look stock to pass the visual portion of an emission check? Being in Cali I am making my car look all stock under the hood and the tuner is going to make the computer show the system is all a ok.

cons: if you have to have emissions you might not pass, engine light but hurts nothing and can be switched off with a simple tune, mine cost me 25 to turn off the codes.

Well in the older 350s sometimes the cars would overheat by not having the EGR hooked up because along with emissions it's to keep your cylinders at a curtain temp which is about 2200*. Our cooling system is really good so it doesn't hurt us.
Aside from looking good it adds a little air flow because you don't have the EGR tube sticking down into the intake which takes away from maximum air flow.

Oh and the way that it helps cool is by shooting the exhaust gas back into the intake when you motor is hot. It's regulated by the EGR, if it was just shooting in there all the time then you would have no need for an EGR valve it would just be free flowing. So if your car is equiped with EGR and it's not running to top perforfance and it seems to run cooler then your EGR can be stuck open. If it runs a few *s hotter it could be closed. It's a good idea to have your fans kicked down a few degrees and get a lower thermostate when you take your EGR off. Alot of people might disagree but I stand by this as true.
