Default Rotten egg smell

I just pulled in to work today and noticed a nasty rotten egg smell. Thought it was the air and nothing else. Then later I pulled it into the garage (I work at a stereo shop) and then my boss said "wtf is that smell" and I was realized, crap, its my car that smells like it just farted....

I did a few searches, and the two potential issues are the battery and the cats? My car hasn't set a CEL or the "Check gages" light yet. On the gauge cluster battery voltage reads around 13.5v.

What should I look out for? Should I test for anything? Sure'd be nice to have a new catback and high flow cats, but it'd be even better if that wasn't the problem.

the cats can give off that smell, but usually only when they are new.... you could do a fast highway rin to heat them thru...

but my bet is that someone stinkbombed your car.... anyone have a motive??, or do you live next to a 13 year old who hates you??? (buturic acid smells like rotten eggs)

a battery being overcharged also has that same smell. i had a battery blow up in my 68 chevelle when i had it. of course that is a totally diff charging system. it had an external regulator which went bad, now there all one unit. still could be going bad. i would have that checked also

Anyways the smell only happened that one day.... I noticed the smell hasn't come back. But my mileage is slightly lower, so I'm thinking its probably the cats. No change in driveability or performance though

some funny posts in here I'll admit

The only time I smell any odor is after I have hammered down a couple of times and then pull into the garage.
