Default UD pulley effect cam lope??

I was recently talking to a guy about changing my cam because I really wasn't happy with the overall sound of the 114 split. He told me before I did, I should buy a new ud pulley. Said it made a world of difference on the sound. Is this true?? I really don't want to go spend nearly 300$ on something that is not going to change anything..

pick up a used one or an ebay one for cheap. I do not think it will make a sound difference on your cam but it should give you a couple hp and atleast you can try it out who knows maybe you will hear a difference but I doubt it.

The problem with an UD pulley is the install is half way to doing a cam anyway. Either way..we do have the SLP UD pulleys on sale here-

If all you are concerned about is the sound than there is a simple solution. Have someone lower your idle rpm and retard your timing. You can make a stock cam lope if you lower the idle and retard the timing so I'm sure you could get it to sound pretty ratty.

I went with the $26 ARP bolt (ARP 234-2503) for peace of mind. It's not TTY.
