I had an K&N FIPK and switched it out for the FTRA setup...my IAT decreased substantially over the FIPK and throttle response seemed to be better as well (using the FTRA). The Fast Toys setup comes with a reusable filter similar to all of the others on the market.

Lid only would be a different story. My suggestion would be to get the FTRA complete system with the 85mm lid.

I would get the FTRA, with the FT 85mm lid. the lid has bigger opening for more volume of air to flow.

Fast Toys said that they were experiencing hood issues on the SS hood. It would hit the lid. But i think they were ok on the WS6 hood????

There are bunch of mixed reviews on what filter to use. Some people say to use a regular Fram paper filter. Some say to use the K&N.

the reason why some are against the K&N is b/c sometimes people over oil the filter when cleaing it, thus casuing the oil to get onto the MAF then you throw an SES light.

Me personaly, i use a K&N, have been since 2005 w/o any issues. When i go to oil the filter, i let it sit over night and it is sometime 24 hours before i stick the filter back into the car so i know the oil is drier...

I believe the website for Fast Toys says they have only experienced issues with closing on the Z28 hoods and it may rub on the SS hoods. For what it's worth mine fit great and I have a stock Z28 hood.

Fitment can be modified if you feel the need....my FT lid does rub a bit on my SS hood, however if your careful about closing it, it's not that big of deal. You could put a thin piece of foam rubber @ the contact point to buffer the hood.

You mean the FT lid, not the FTRA?

Yes he means FT lid. FTRA sits under the lid on the top portion of the radiator support

Many lids hit the inside of the hood. I have a Whisper lid that hits the inside of my SS hood. When I had the stock Z/28 hood it didn't. I fastened a piece of velcro to the top of the lid and problem solved.

Me too. Plus if you want to extend the tube down and run it like a Vette intake it is much easier to do.
