TRUE DUALS WITH X PIPE?????????
I recently emailed MAC performance about a set of starter tubes for my headers, and the technician that responded emailed me a said that true duals and x pipe will not increase horse power or torque at all, they say that our system is set up to be equal to a x pipe or h pipe with true duals. DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANY BEFORE AND AFTER DYNO SHEETS THEY CAN POST SO I CAN PROVE TO THEM THAT IT DOES. or are they right?

Re: TRUE DUALS WITH X PIPE?????????
There is is a great gain, even on a stock car, with the 3" out to the DR GAS X to bullets. I used that when the car ran the 11.49 on just bolt ons, and a little ol Vig 3200. It was loud on the car, but dont expect to talk on the phone, or hold a conversation with someone sitting right next to you.
Maybe mine was missing the insulation from under the stock carpet. A little weight reduction never hurt anyone.

I did some calculations on the cross sectional area of different tubes, since flow is proportional to that. Flow is not proportional to diameter. Here's the results in order of flow potential:
Single 3.0" = 7.07 sq. inches
Single 3.5" = 9.62 sq. inches
dual 2.5" = 9.80 sq. inches
Single 4" = 12.56 sq. inches
dual 3.0" = 14.14 sq. inches
dual 3.5" = 19.24 sq. inches
I think a dual 3.0" is what I want!

I picked up 41hp and 36 ft. lbs. when I went from stock manifolds, stock y, cats, and hooker catback... to Pacesetter coated LT's, and true duals with x-pipe and dynomax bullets. I know headers couldnt make a 41 hp difference, so the true duals had to make up some of that. And my car isn't that loud at cruise speed, i had the tips turned down at a 45 degree instead of straight down.

I liked my 3" Hedman x-pipe, and it was only $100...My car had the turndowns at 45 degrees, and it still rattled everything that wasn't bolted down inside the car at highway cruising RPM, but smoothed out once you got it over about 2200 or so RPM..but you can't beat the sound..I had so many compliments and thumbs up. Especially from truckers on the interstate..

Yes, as JRP states, the gains are not so dramatic in peak HP, but rather in the gains measured throughout the rev range. I suprisingly picked up lots of power at the low end w/ duals.
