Default SLP Y PIPE Question

I have the new SLP Y-pipe that is supposed to be stainless. While removing it I noticed how rusted looking it was and tried to clean it. I also noticed that a magnet will attach to it but not the rest of my stainless piping. The part # on my invoice is the same part # on SLP's site but did not come from SLP. Anyone else have this Y-pipe, and isn't it correct about a magnet won't attach to stainless? Thanks

SLP for some odd reason uses 409 stainless for the F-body headers. 409 is the lowest or next t, grade of stainless steel.

409 is higher carbon rate ,this will rust easier and a magnet will try to stick

Based on what I was reading, the Y is not polished. All the other piping of the loudmouth 1 is stainless/ polished. But yet the magnet only will stick to the Y pipe.

Only 300 series stainless is non-magnetic, such as 301, 304, 316, 317, 321, etc.

All 400 series stainless (409, 410, etc) along with some other grades such as 17-4 series stainless are magnetic.

Everything but my Y is stainless polished. That's the way it came from Summit. The Y is just stainless 409 according to what was said here. So I just sanded and painted the Y with header paint and I feel better about it. I'll see how long it last then just replace with polished stainless.
