Which exhaust will make the most power?
Right now I have a 2.5" H pipe with a 2" crossover, 2.5" dynomax bullets with turndowns and was thinking of putting my XS Y pipe back on but replace the merge with this one http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...-1&showValue=1 and run a 4" dynomax bullet right off the end of the Y with a turndown. Opinions?

i think the flow between the two would be about the same. and i don't think you would notice a difference in performance at all.
the duals would be a bit deeper sounding since you have a h-pipe. but the y merge deal would be lighter weight.
as far as loudness..i would venture to say it would be close to the same.

You are gonna have some nasty drone if you don't have any cats. I had the xs y pipe with their headers and had a bullet muffler right on the end and it is drooonnnneeeeyyyyy lol. But that is how its gonna be with all setups. Gonna have a good bit of rasp too.
Why do you want to get rid of the duals?

Im going to be making a custom Y with that merge then doing a 4' Bullet with a turndown. ill post up some sound clips soon.
68bird- How did you get rasp from this? Were you using the merge thats linked in the OP? If not im pretty sure thats were you got your rasp from.

What does power level have to do with Duals vs Y pipe?

Neither is restricting flow because of shear flow thru the straight pipe. Its the merge that typically makes or breaks the flow on our cars. If you get a GOOD merge on either it flow properly but more importantly be a good inductor for the bank that is not firing. Otherwise.... we wouldnt even bother running the crossover pipe.
Im going with the Y pipe for a couple of reasons. The flowmaster merge i think is one of the best on the market. Its cheaper and lighter for my application.
The biggest thing is to not have the merge meet with a harsh angle so that the air is smacking into each other. you want one that "blends" the pips together for lack of a better word.
