Default LS1 vs. LS6 vs. 6.0 intake

On an otherwise stock 6.0 motor will I see a power loss in the idle to 5700rpm range by replacing the 6.0 intake with an LS1 intake (NOT an LS6 intake), and if I add a relatively mild cam (216/216 .565/.565 113lsa) will the LS1 intake be the bottleneck or will that intake still outflow the stock heads at .550 lift??, and is the the LS6 manifold REALLY that much better than the LS1 intake assuming a stock or mildly modified motor??

I want to swap to the LS1 intake (which was free) to gain manifold to hood/cowl clearance for my own project so a power gain from just the swap alone is not necessary but a power loss or bottleneck is definitly NOT acceptable

also, is a stock LS1 intake able to be ported to increase flow potential (didn't SAM try this??), and what kind of results can be achived by hand porting a composite manifold??

truck motors have different intakes?
i thought they were the same all around from 4.8 up to 6.0 of the same years
if you plan on making more power, ide go ahead and get a 01-02(LS6) intake
find an Fbody in a salvage yard and get the manifold off it, for cheap

yea....i was under the same impression. thought they all ran the ls1 intake till 01/02 and switched to a ls6. is the clearance going to be that much of a difference? what does the 6.0 intake look like?(never seen one myself).

6L has better mid-range flow than the LS1. Both the LS1/LS6 have better top end I believe.

6.0 and other truck motors have different intake with taller runners. I would love some dyno testing feedback between this intake and LS6? Anyone done this?

The 4.8/5.3/6.0 ALL use the same manifold, I was just naming the engine size

Yes, the truck maifolds are VERY different than the LS1/LS6 mainfolds, they are almost as tall as the old TPI mainfiolds....picture an LS1 manifold that has been stretched another 4" taller and you pretty much have a truck manifold

I'd like to see a dyno comparison too. I thik that you would get more torque out of the 6.0 intake b/c of the taller runners.
