I recently had a H/C swap done by a very top notch well known Speed shop back in August. It did and IS running great. I've only driven it 1800 miles since I brought it home from having the work done so I kept an eye on my oil level. No problems. I checked it about a week ago and saw that it could use about half a quart. I took it out this morning for about 10 miles, brought it home and checked the oil again and decided to add the half quart. Now keep in mind, at this point, the cap hasn't been off since the H/C swap. When I pulled the cap off, these 2 pictures is what I saw. Somebody pease tell me that since the car has been running great, that this milky film is just blow back or something from the swap!!! Help!!

I know this is a sign of water in the oil and blown head gaskets but the car runs fine!! I don't get it. I guess I plan on wiping it all off and driving a little bit and keep checking the cap?

Had that problem too, cleaned it off and changed oil and disappeared. hasnt come back since. try it, might solve your problem

I haven't changed the oil since the install. It's only been driven about 1800 miles and the work was done in August so I there was no need to change it, maybe I should?

I would change the oil, let it all drain, wait a good 15 mins, clean the oil cap, refill with 5.5 qts syn 5W30 of oil your choice. Drive it then check it again

It happens, condensation tends to build up there because its a high point(see heat rises) and mixes with the oil. As long as your not finding it on your dipstick you should be fine.

I cleaned it off, and started it, let it run for 10 minutes and it looks good. Changing the oil in the morning.

We see this all the time and more so when it's cooler out.

note : The oil was changed in shop after his H/C package was done. We always do a heat cycle, coolant and then change the oil prior to tuning.

Mine looked like this today when I changed my oil, it has been really cold lately though. Just wondering....why is it a yellow foam substance??

This is completely normal.

its normal i always see it in december when its cold and i change the oil.... its just a mixture of disipated water from internal heat and mixing with residual oil

I would say it due to short trip driving in cold temps. I see it quite a bit on engines that don't get driven much in the winter.

My car had that when I bought it 17-18 thousand miles ago, wiped it clean and it hasnt returned yet. That is moisture though to answer you original question

Wipe it off and take your car on a good drive, like 25 miles or more to get everything good and hot. That will evaporate that mess.
