Default Throttle body spacer

Anybody have any dyno sheets or 1/4 mile times with a TB spacer for the ls1(98-02 birds/maros?)

They are expensive and hell and I think they are total BS..

Subscribing......not because I want one, but to see if anybody out there can change my mind about these things. I have only heard negative things and that they're a huge waste of $$$.

Well, I can't say for sure on these, but they might be relying on the fact that spacers do work on carb'd motors. I doubt anything like it advertised though. I'd be interested to see some results too. I bet you could make a spacer out of some nice plastic and a dremel for pretty cheap if you really wanted to test it.

my understanding of these is that they are helpfull on carb/tbi motors due to increasing the plenum volume, and many are made of polymer to resist heat soak in the carb/tb. also they give more room for the fuel to mix with the air, since those two things are combined BEFORE the intake manifold on a carb/tbi.

basically...they would be pointless on an intake manifold design like the ls1. our manifolds are big enough plenum wise, are made out of composite anyway, and the fuel is added just before the intake valve.

- Creates a Vortex of Air

HAH...who cares? the path of the air flow has to turn 90* to enter the runners...what does a vortex do?

- Increases gas mileage up to 5 miles per gallon

HAH HAH...20-25% iincrease in mileage....RIGHT!!

if it did that...don't you think they'd be advertised by every company in the world??

as i stated, there is very little to be gained from these on the IM design of the lsx.

carb/tbi setup....yes

you won't see a 3mpg increase.

i doubt you'd even see a 3% gain...which is ~.5-.7mpg

a lighter foot will gain you more than that

If you want a throttle body spacer, I have one. It's a 90MM and has connections for a nitrous line on one side a fuel line on the other. It probably won't help your mileage, but if you hook up all of the supporting accessories to it, I promise it will gain more than 5hp.

dont see how vortex would help. wind comming downward would benefit that side. where as wind on the upswing would have to change directions, down!

I didn't read the posts, but put me down in the "I know for an undeniable fact that these are not worth the money, or any money for that matter" category.
