Default Oops. Forgot to install heatshield on GMPP wires

So installed some GMPP 8mm wires.
I tossed out the heatshield that came with the stockers.

Should I have kept them? I did notice that they did fit the boot of the GMPP ones. I'm concerned the boots might get fried by the headers now.

I have searched and it seems it is OK to not use them on aftermarket ones. I was just wondering about how critical they were with GM wires.

TIA

There should be no issue, ive never had heat shields on my MSd wires and they are fine.

As long as they aren't resting on the header it should be fine. When I had an MSD resting on the header it burned up within 2 weeks without a heat shield.

I couldn't use them with my Taylors, and they are still going strong.
