Ordered LS6 Intake; Need Gaskets?
I just called in my order for the LS6 Intake, the guy asked me if I wanted to order the gasket set for $51.00. Need it?
I'm maxed out on my credit card already, these "hidden" costs always kill me.
You input is appreciated. I'd like to save the 50 bucks...

Re: Ordered LS6 Intake; Need Gaskets?
Well, if they have "good" pricing maybe its because they somehow managed to get intakes without the gaskets built in? Generally the GM part # includes the 8 gaskets already pressed in.
If for some reason the new intake you get doesn't have gaskets pressed in, you can pull them out of your LS1 intake and put them into the new one. They are just 8 rubber O-rings.

Thanks jmX, 'appreciate your time and response. From what I recall from the conversation, they do itemize this as a separate add on--->boooo!
And you're dead nuts on the pricing, the intake was well cheaper than others....$399.00! And I didn't know these were just some rubber o-rings. They wanted $50.xx for these. Like you said, I hope we can get out the old ones cleanly. I'd rather spend that money on a 160 stat
Thanks again.

I would spend the 50 bucks on the gaskets if it didn't come with it rather then reuse the stock ones. If you accidentially screw up one of the old gaskets while you're taking it out or putting it in the new intake, you will get a vacumm leak. And trust me, having to do it all again because of something stupid like that is a pain in the ***. My original holley-weiand intake didn't seat correctly and caused a leak, and I had to tear it all down again. What a pain in the ***.

That makes SLPs deal look even better. I paid $420 shipped and got the manifold, all gaskets, the piece in back with the MAP sensor, and the crossover tube and plugs. The manifold was shipped in a huge box with a **** load of packing material.
I don't understand all the SLP hating.
