Default How many wires are supposed to be in the alternator plug?

So when i was changing my alternator i noticed that on the plug that goes into it, there was only one red wire coming out of it, and there looked like there were spaces for four. I ordered a new plug from AC Delco, but i just wanted to know if thats the reason my car isnt charging right. please let me know if you guys had more wires coming out of the plug. thanks

You should drop that thing off for service at a dealership and film their reaction when they pop the hood. Just act like you have no clue whats in there.
