Default Advantages of ported FAST 92 over ported FAST 90

Other than the improved throttle body on the 92s what would be the advantages of a ported 92 over a ported 90 if any? I wouldn't assume 2mm would make a difference performance wise but may be wrong. Any input is appreciated, thanks.

The 92 mounts the MAP sensor better at the back, the 90 had problems with it leaking. The 92 also comes with stainless bolts. Performance wise they are basically the same - the extra 2mm isn't going to make a difference on a stock cube motor anyway.

Ok that's the kind of stuff I was wondering although I've never heard of leaking MAPs. What are the adverse effects to the leaks? The point of these questions is I have an opportunity to get a brand new ported FAST 90 by Ron @ Vengeance and a NW 90 tb for $1100, a 92 intake ported by itself from vengeance is $1130, w/ tb is 1450 so is the money I'm saving worth it or should I go w/ the 92s?

+1 on The MAPS. i have a 90 and i could see where it would become a problem. But as long as u secure the sensor pretty good, there is not any problems.

I saw a post on here where a guy put a barb type fitting on the back of the intake then put a piece of vacuum hose from it to the MAP sensor to keep it from leaking. It was a slick idea. I will have to see if I can find the post.

We did this recently with my friends turbo car. We went up to 7psi with it just stuck in the hole with a new grommet. We have had it up to 12psi with the barb fitting and hose piece, no problems.

If you want pictures, look at the last few pages of Sluggish's turbo build in the FI section.

You used to be able to buy new grommets for the MAP sensor for like $5 and it would fit pretty good. Now they want you to buy the entire sensor which is $100. The fit on an N/A car won't make much of a difference at all, I would not worry about it unless your grommet is totally jacked up and it barely stays in.

Performance difference will be minimal if any. The MAP sensor issue has not been fixed, even though the mold marks around the hole hint at a revision. The 92 mainly has better hardware as it's stainless. The hardware provided with the 90 will rust, and F.A.S.T. I say buy the 90/90 for $300 less, then get the stainless hardware kit from Thunder Racing.

How are the heads working for you?

Hey man! Heads have been good for the most part. Broke #1 valvespring in June, and now I'm dealing with a guide/seals smoking issue. Gonna pull the heads regardless cuz stock lifters are starting to clatter a bit more than I like so going w/ ls7s and a FAST 90 or 92. Haven't decided whether I'm going to fix the heads @ a machine shop or swap in some PRCs.

Get the 90/90 combo and save the cash..... I have never had an issue with my MAP sensor leaking on my 90. My engine builder made a bracket to help secure it a little better as well.

Or you can just go on www.ls1speed.com, and buy a 92mm intake with a 92mm throttle body for $1139.99. The porting is only really needed if you have a stroker.
