Default Cut out Open vs Closed Dyno Sheet

I have a 00 ws6 and it was just tuned today, Mods are in sig and I have Pacesetter LT's with the tsp y pipe and a custom catback with a 3" cut out right after the y pipe. I gained 11hp and 13 tq with NO LOSS AT ANY RPM. I just figured i would share because remember other people saying they felt like it was less tourqey. Well i thought i would of lost some down low too but i didn't Now i have an excuss to never close it

Just thought i would share if anyone was questioning there Cut out

By the way this is gained OVER a full 3" catback with a 3"in/out Dynomax Bullit, and i have high flow cats.

impressive... i have cutouts on my 300C and was always curious but never got the chance to dyno it. i think the feeling of it being less torque comes from the exhaust sounding so loud you feel that it should be firmer IMO.

Just to clarify, you have 1 cutout total rather than 1 in each side?

Have any pics?

Yes compared to 3"in/out Dynomax bullit and 3"piping before and after the muffler. The graph shows my cut out closed and tuned closed, then opend up and ran on the dyno. I did not expect that good of results, they asked me if i wanted it tuned open i just said nah tune it close since i drive at low rpm on the high way i want my low end power for the street, then when i saw that i was amazed that nothing was lost down low but a nice gain up high also. Deff for just a bolt on car. A cam and nitrous will like the cutout more.

And i only have one cut out after the y pipe. Here is a pic of my set up.

These were Uncorrected numbers and Back to Back pulls Well 5 mins apart i believe. You cant argue with numbers.. I wanted to share this with some people because i read a bunch of times people asking if this is worth it and remember this is compared to a FULL 3 Inch after the cut out with a 3" bullit muffler, Not a stock catback.

My old roomate had her 02 WS6 dynoed with a lid and a SLP catback, all else stock and she gained 10 rwhp with the cutout opened. I think it was 331rwhp through an A4.

Ahh another reason for me to get a cutout this spring. I also have full 3" exhaust.

I plan to add a 3.5" cutout as my y-pipe merge exists at 3.5" then is reduced to 3". I wonder if I would c any more gain, tho i doubt it.
