Exclamation Are UD pulleys supposed to be keyed??

I just bought a 25% UD pulley from Texas Speed and was wondering if it was supposed to be notched for a key. My dad seems to think so but I am not sure. I sure hope not because it does not look like there is anyway for a key... Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It depends on the model whether it is keyed or not. ATI & Powerbond both are for sure.

It doesn't need to be keyed. The stock one is not keyed as well. Most guys running mass power or blower set-ups key the crank. To stop the belts from slipping. The stock cranks aren't set up for a key as well. It has to be keyed.

Yeah but there are kits that allow you to pin the pulley to the crank. That is what most high hp guys are doing.

make sure to put rtv sealant on the key on the pulley when installing, so oil wont leak out!!
