Default Long tube oo close to heater box?

Im looking around after installing the jet hots on the car and notice that the pass. side header is about and 1/8 inch from the bottom of the heater box, which is made of plastic. Im thinking this isnt good. I drive the car home and check it and it is'nt mealted but startting to turn white. Im just wondering if any one else has had this problem and what would be the best way to go about fixing it. Im gonna to try some heat shield tape ont he box but wil this be enough?

That should help out. Mine is kind of close but I didnt do anything about it. Once you put some kind of divider in it is kind of like an air gap exhaust pipe and should drop the temp of the box quite a bit.
It is made of a fiberglass material so thats why it didnt melt.
