Never heard of putting grease on the bolt; I didn't. The bolt comes with some kind of locktite stuff already on it, so I would think you would not want grease on there. You are using a new bolt, right? Just make sure you torque it properly, that's the hard part. Never tried running with out the A/C belt; shouldn't set a code though.

What would be the benefit of running without the belt?? The A/C has a clutch that disingages it when your not using it, so there is very little loss.

Running no A/C belt won't throw a code. If the compressor clutch is shot, or you have the compressor off, I wouldn't use the belt. But otherwise, I don't know why you wouldn't want it.

Do not use grease. Using a lubricant other than the one specified will throw off your torque readings. This could cause you to overtorque the bolt and possibly snap it off.

Just to install a pulley you would not use lubricant on anything.

snapo it off?? do you realize how big of a bolt that is???
I have seen people with 6 foot breaker bars to torque it down...not snap it off.....

and no lube on the bolt...sometimes a little on the crank snout to help it on easier can help.... and a couple drops of locktite on the bolt will help it hold after its torqued down....
I think the spec is to take the original bolt and pull the pulley on with it and torque it to 240 ft/lbs(its a lot harder than it soundsIf you only make it to like 200 dont worry too much, it will be enough, but try for 240)...then take out that bolt...and put the asp bolt in and torque it to 37 ft/lbs....then grab a breaker bar and turn it an extra 140 degrees...

You would use lube only if you use the ARP pulley bolt, I used the ARP molley lube when I installed my ARP pulley bolt.
