I recently installed a ported throttle body, and now when the car gets up to operating temp it starts to kind of hunt for an idle, it will fluxuate between about 1200 and 1500 and sometimes it will hang at 2000 and then fall back down to the normal idle speed. Do you guys have any ideas what may be causing this and what i can do to fix it, thanks.

Does anyone have any experience with this or have an idea to what may be causing it, i've already reset the pcm and that hasn't helped, do you have to drill out the trottle body when its been ported?

There is too much air getting past the blade. When it was ported, the area around the blade was opened up and now it leaks essentially. It just happens sometimes and every car is different.

You really have two choices, get another blade with a smaller hole. Or epoxy in your idle hole and drill a smaller one.

I see there are two small holes around the blade on the body of the tb, one is smaller than the other one, is this what you are talking about, as far as too much air?

Not the IAC holes. It's a plate problem. Usually the there is too much hole in the blade.

I sent you a mail about this. It's a easy fix for me. The last thing IMHO you should do is epoxy anything on the plate, welding is the only sure fire way to make that part 100% safe. Epoxy is great for the body of the TB but not the plate.

You might try making sure the idle adjustment screw is set properly as well, I have been messing with mine lately and it can make a big difference.
