Question Plug wires and plugs?

I'm gonna be upgrading within a week and want to know what spark plugs to get and what is the difference between the msd black and red wires? I'm a newb to this so forgive me if this has been asked millions of times. Search didn't work btw.

Only difference is color to my knowledge. If I recall, you dont spray, so the NKG TR55 is most likely the plug you want. But if you do spray get the TR6's.

Yeah no spray here. Ok so I guess i'm going with the black wires and tr55's. If anyone else wants to weigh in before I pull the trigger in the next couple days let me know.

i think the only difference in color is well color. tr6s are a bit colder plug, but someone brought up that on ngks website it suggested a slightly colder plug for every 100 hp you are over stock. maybe something worth looking into. i got the plug and wire set from 99blancoss. good deal IMO.

No difference in the wire continuity, just a color red or black. TR55 for stock compression and mild head and cam setups, TR6 for power adds and aggressive hi compression combo.

TR55's gapped at .050

Wires.......you can spend the money if you want to or maybe its for better looking wires......but aftermarket wires will do absolutely NOTHING for you as far as performance goes, NOTHING!!!!. Factory wires or Advance Auto Parts wires are good to 700+hp.

When I went to Autozone to get wires they were more than MSD's. Thus the reason I have MSD's on my car.

Don't know if you've seen this thread. https://ls1tech.com/forums/advanced-...tion-long.html It's a good read on plugs.

Great addition to this thread. I started that thread & can say that the WeaponX plug is my personal preference. Am not gonna get into a spark is spark debate w/ anyone. I have modified & tested various plugs & their effect on my set-up. Have also read & discussed a lot of theory about plugs & ignition. WeaponX plugs are the best choice for me & will last much longer than a TR6 or a TR55. Previous plug of choice was a home modified NGK. Before that was any copper cored plug, home modified. Who knows what it will be after WeaponX, but will always use a plug that produces the best results for me (gas mileage, part throttle acceleration response, highest cruise air/fuel ratio for best gas mileage, highest WOT air/fuel ratio & timing without pre-detonation).

99BlancoSS also carries the WeaponX plug

msd wires have an angle boot to turn them away from the header, another advantage over the factory wire.

You won't go wrong with the MSD's and TR55s. Many sponsors like ws6store.com and thunderracing keep them in stock as a package deal.
