Stripped EGR bolt...how do I fix!!???
Well today I was checking the seal on the Egr going into the intake, since it was leaking. Seal was not on correctly so I went ahead fixed that. While I was tightning the bolt on I noticed it wasn't getting tight. Just kept spinning. How do I get it back out and fix it. Help please!

Heres a update. I got the bolt out, but it came out with the part that holds the bolt. The Intake is fine, it just doesn't have the place to mount the bolt since it is "one" with the bolt now. What would I need to put back in there to mount another bolt?

Go out and buy an expandable freeze plug to put in place of the EGR hole. If the bolt hole is not creating a leak then do not worry about that. This would only be temporary until you could get your codes deleted or an LS6 intake and codes deleted.

Get some JB Weld. Mix it up and put it on the part that came out of the intake (forget what it is called). Also putsome in the hole where this part goes. Put part back into the hole and let it sit overnight. Then put everything back together. DO NOT PUT JBWELD into the part the screw goes into, just the outside. DO not touque this screw do too tight. Just 89 in/lbs of torque per manual.
Hope this helps.

The bolt I screwed up is the one bolt that holds the egr tube into the intake. I will try and get a picture of it. I'm gonna shoot myself in the foot now DOH!!

Yep, the little brass type insert that goes into the intake. Just put JB Weld around the outside of it and put back into intake. Let it sit over night and then put back together.

EGR mod page
Why don't you just remove the entire EGR system? If you do that and get the codes deleted you should pass CA inspections. It only takes some red RTV sealant, a metal block of plate and a rubber expandable freeze plug. It cleans up your engine bay and rids your intake of unwanted carbon build up.

He's in California. To keep things easy, I'd say don't remove the EGR.
It doesn't take much force to hold the EGR in place. Why not just force a larger bolt in there?
Or, fill the hole with JBWeld, let it dry, drill the JBWeld, and then tap it. You don't have to go back in with the same bolt... You could use something more common like a 1/8" bolt of some sort.
