Question Cutouts?

I just bought a camaro ss and i am new to the whole thing, anyways i am looking to get true duals to run all the way back over my axel and saw a car with cutouts on it, what are cutouts and what is the advantage or disadvantage of them/ What is the advantage of electronic cutouts and non-electronic ones?

cutouts are the cheap way of freeing up exhaust, guys mainly do it to free up the exhaust and get a louder exhaust. But true duals are more free flowing and less restrictive then say a Y pipe setup with a cutout, but then again you could always just put to cutouts right after the headers. My advice would be get long tubes and some true duals, you wont regret it believe me.
