Default Good Sparkplugs

I don't see much about sparkplugs on here so I was just wondering what is recommended for my LS1. I want to do a tune up, what are the best reasonably priced plugs out there and does installing thicker spark plug wires help? What else do you guys recommend as far as plugs and wires? What size gap is recommended? I was told factory plugs were better so help me out. Thanks!

Depends....TR55's are good...I run TR6's because I run 30 degree's of timing and the occasional Juice. NGK's by far have seem to be the best plugs available....I wouldn't put anything else in my car.

"I don't see much about sparkplugs on here"

That's because spark plugs are EXTERNAL engine parts and this is the INTERNAL engine section. :p

Anyway, I'll move this to the external engine section for ya.

Oh, and yes TR-55s are what most people around here prefer.

Probably next to nothing if there's nothing wrong with the ones you have (meaning that the ones you have are still in good condition.)

Running Bosch Platinum here; only $2 a plug and work great. The only reason I changed plugs is because I had to take them out to install headers anyway, so I figured I might as well put new ones back in.

Do you get any performance from adding wires?

With our outstanding ignition systems, no. Not unless one of your stockers has really bitten the dust. Having said that, I have measured the resistance of a couple sets of aftermarket wires and compared them to the resistance of almost new factory wires. The factory wires suck to say the least.

I think the part # is NGK 4177.I think. If there is a problem just order them from a sponsor-->

I prefer TR-55's for your setup gapped at the stock .055.

Wires-I like stock the best for there tight fit.
