Default Header Gasket?

What kind of header gaskets do I need to get? I will be putting on some LTs soon. Thanks!

What kind of headers are you getting? If you know make sure they don't come with them. I know when I bought my ARH the gaskets were included!

I am putting a used set on. I always heard most of the gaskets that come with headers are junk. Seems like I read some where I need copper gaskets? Keep the info coming, should I just go to the dealer and get some stockers?

I used the ones that came with my headers no problem. If they didn't come with any I would have just bought GM ones. Just make sure that you get the right shape. For example my car is an 03 vette which has D shape manifold gaskets. I would have to get like 01 LS1 round shape gaskets to match with my headers so they seal. There are some really nice aftermarket gaskets too!

Oh, I would get some ARP header studs too but you can reuse the stockers if you don't want to spend the money.

Your stock GM exhaust manifold gaskets will work great... either re-use yours (if they look ok) or buy a new set, they are like 8 bucks a gasket or something. They are MLS (multi-layer steel) and that is what you want. This is what I have with my pacesetter headers.
