Default LS6 Intake on 98 LS1?

Can I put a LS6 intake on my 98 SS without the EGR provisions? What will happen if I put the intake on my car? Will I get worse gas mileage or will the motor ping at all? I know about the system light coming on but i'm not worried about that. I found the intake for $275 so its a pretty good buy. Last question will the intake make more power on my 98 than a 01-02 due to my bigger cam? lift is .496 i think compared to .479 on the 01-02

The LS6 intake will work on your car. You can remove the ERG provisions and be ok. It will give you probably 15 hp from the LS1. Reason why people didn't shed light is because this question can be answered by using the search feature. Good Luck

your cam may have more lift, but the 01-02 guys are talking **** about your valve covers and restrictive manifolds.
