I've got a 99 z, pretty much stock except for Hooker catback, I'm looking in to getting headers and running exhaust
gimme some input on some popular types of headers you guys are using, easy install with a decent price, not looking to spend $1200 on headers and full exhaust.. feel free to let me know what kind of setup your using and if you would recommend it, thanks

I have the Edelbrocks and love them, I got those because they come with O2 extensions and the pacesetters look cheap compared to these. My old set-up was fully bolted stock internal. I put down 339/339 through a 3600 Yank stall, 3.23 gears. They fit well and are not difficult to install. Just make sure if you get the edelbrocks that you have the collectors welded.

Many knowledgeable people will tell you that Kooks headers are the best performing and highest quality headers being produced. You can do a search and there was a test on the leading headers, and Kooks came out on top. I'll see if I can find it.

Well if you`re not looking to spend a lot of money the Macs are a great buy. Very easy to install and they fit well, no banging and plenty of ground clearance. They are also very easy to tune cause the O2 sensors are close to the heads and they provide great upper RPM power!

Pacesetters are a great bang for the buck......they make proven power and are easy on the pocketbook. I've had mine for 4 1/2 years and they still look fine. However, the LPP's seem to be growing in popularity and look to be a good bargain. With that said, when I'm ready to upgrade I'll be going with ARH.

I installed the LPP a couple of weeks ago for a friend and a few problems we ran into with them are. The #8 plug is a really PITA, They hit the driver side motor mount and vibrate real bad.
I am going to pull them off and grind down the mount a little bit, and dent in the primary just a little so they will have the clearance.
Now tonight I just installled the Pacesetters on my car and they give you a ton more clearance for all the plugs, and they are not even close to the motor mount.
With the Pacesetters you have to remove the the steering knuckle (only two bolts) to install the driver side header, but other then that they went on great.
Now this was my second set of headers installing so I knew a few tricks and stuff form my buddies car, but I put the pacesetters about two hours quicker then the LPP's. I am working off a lift and that is a ton eaiser!!
Also dropped the tank and put the new Walbro pump in. in about the same time as the LPP install We had a soild 10 hours I would say in installing the headers and changing the fuel pump.
