Default how much power can a stock trans/rear take?

how much can a stock rear and trans take??
and what is the difference between 93-97 rears to 98-02 if there is. i thought they were both 7.5
more ppl i know blow the rear out of the lt1 cars more often than the ls1's?

No difference in the rears from year to year except for a LSD on the 98 and up cars. What trans are you talking about? The 4L60E or the T-56?

M6 i have drag raidials and N02, the car made 341 rwhp with the clutch slippin (have new clutch) so was i just wondering really what my boundaries are?

Killed 3rd gear w/ 432rwhp/403rwtq. rear end still going strong.

It all depends on how you drive it... with bolt ons and a hella hard launch with great traction annihalated my rear end.

Yeah your not going to find a set magical number where the trans and rear end just die. People blow their rear ends on stock HP with some grippy tires... others last forever. Its part how u drive/race, and part just getting lucky i guess.

According to a well known shop in my area, 500 RWHP on the stock rear before an upgrade is necessary. I know guys (outside of the forum) that have put out around 800 with the stock rear and they hold up. The T-56 is very strong. Majority of damage can occur from banging your gears too hard. A shifter with the adjsutable stoppers in the base, like the Pro 5.0 can prevent you from doing this.

Stall converters can quickly shorten the life of an auto.
