Default Gutted cat vs straight pipe

I want to get rid of the pre cats on my Corvette.
How much benifit would there be to replacing them with straight pipe vs knocking the catalyst out and leaving the shell?

Thanks

With gutted cats you may get more rasp. And if for some reason you need to put the cats back you still have them. Tubes are less expensive and easier to swap back and forth.
