Default Is a MAF for the later engine compatible with an earlier engine?

I have a 1961 Corvette with a 2002 LS1 and I want to put a 2007 Z06 air intake on the car. Does anybody know if the MAF for the later engines are compatible with an earlier engine? I understand that it has the air temp sensor combined with the MAF, that’s not a problem, as long as the values are the same and wont confuse the computer. I can always plug the hole and install the older MAF, but I like the idea of less clutter under my hood.
Thanks, Dave.
