Default Califonia legal headers

I want to put some bigger headers and a y pipe on my 1999 z28 camaro, but i want it to pass smog so i don't have to pay alot to get it smogged or keep taking them off every year. Does anyone know of headers and a y pipe that i can put on so it passes smog and sounds good. I'm also looking for somthing thats around 500-600 dollars. Thanks

Pretty much all of them have Cali smog options. All you need for smog is your A.I.R. pump fittings and EGR in your case since it's a 99. Almost all longtubes come with that option. You can get a set of Pacesetters/Catted Ypipe for around your price range.

Long tubes will not pass CA emission, as they relocate the cats and that is illegal. There are no CA smog legal headers, only shorties.

100% correct. You will not pass a visual inspection with LT's. You should be fine with a sniffer/OBDII test though. I'm not from Cali, so I only have to deal with the PCM tests. So depending on what you think your going to encounter, decide based on that. Get some 01-02 stock manifolds. That'll pass everything... unless they get mad about the missing EGR.
