Can't find thermostat to save my life!
OK, so my thermostat got stuck today and my car pretty much spewed coolant everywhere and smoked up.
It only touched 210 though, is this going to be a problem?
Well anywho, I went to FOUR auto parts store and all they had was this thermostat... (Housing and thermostat all in one)
IT WON'T FIT IN MY FREAKING WATER PUMP!!!!
I have this two-piece design that doesn't have the edges to hold the spring down.
IDK what to do, because I want to eventually get an SLP (or similar) 160*, but it won't fit!!!
Does ANYONE have the same problem and where the heck do I get a new thermostat?!
EDIT: It's a freaking 04-08 LS2 style thermostat!!! How the heck did this happen?
It is IDENTICAL to the one on the left and the one on the right DOES NOT fit!

The same thing happened when I went to upgrade my thermostat. I did a little searching and found one through Scoggin Dickey. Here is a link to the part you'll need:

I find it unlikely that the thermostat truly "stuck".
More likely is a fan failure to kick on, an air bubble
or something like that.
I always drill my thermostats with a tiny (3/32")
air bleed hole because I once had an engine swap
that would get an air or steam bubble before the
'stat and yo-yo endlessly.
Stick with the stocker and get your fans right.
And clean the radiator out, probably a lot of
crud up in there and the condenser.
