Default Quick ? on dipstick

If the rubber grommet is pretty chewed, will it leak a good amount of oil during WOTs? Im trying to chase down an oil leak. And if the rear main seal was bad, wouldnt my flywheel be cover with some trace of oil? My flywheel is bone dry and the only place i can see a collection of oil is on the passenger side, which leads me away from the rear main seal. Any suggestions??

Alex

I dont know what "grommet" your talking about, only thing I know of is the o-ring on the end of the dipstick. And for the oil on the pass. side of the motor. My bet is on a valve cover.

Yeah, thats what i meant, the o ring. Checked the valvecovers, back of intake, and heads and everything is bone dry. Even the flywheel is clean, not a drop of oil on it.
