Default To use or not to use...

Changing the wires on my stock C5 with new AC Delco wires. When I had put MSD wires in my SS I never reused the "heat shield boots", should I use them with stock ac delco wires or will they be fine without? Btw, no headers at the moment.

i would probably use them. supposedly the msd boots on the side that goes to the plug are more heat resistant then the stockers, which is probably why you had no problem. ive heard of people that have the boot resting right on the header and it doesnt burn. but i wouldnt trust it with stock delco wires. plus i doubt gm would spend the time and money on the heat shields if they didnt need them.
