How would this be different than x-pipe?
I was thinking about how to make a true dual exhaust system that exits out the rear.
It has been beaten to death that a 3" catback will support all the flow needed for big horsepower. The problem with xpipe setups is that they dont exit out the rear.
What exactly are the benefits of an xpipe setup?
And how would the setup on the bottom be any different than the one up top?
The bottom one is the exhaust pipe cut down the center with a divider welded into it to separate the gases. How is this any different? Which one would perform better?

The only problem might be that the single pipe could be a bottle neck on certain applications. It doesn't make much sense to go from to 3" headers down to a single 3" pipe then back to two 3" exits. If the center pipe was larger than the header pipes it would not be a problem. The other problem is the rasp associated with a single pipe like that. True duals like your first example sound better.
